Unethical Practice 4/17
I believe people use unethical practices to cheat because of laziness and lack of preparation. Jack Samuels, the boy who didn't cite his source for his paper, he was shown playing his video game at an early hour in the morning, and just starting it the night before, showing no signs of preparation whatsoever. Since he hadn't worked on it beforehand, he was stuck at 1:30 am with no paper. He chose the easier way out and copied and pasted text to make a paper. The one that I thought should have been let off with a warning was the two students, Mohammad and Sandra, because it didn't seem like that bad of an offense. They should have gotten a warning rather than be expelled, because they were unaware they were doing anything wrong, and they were just trying to help each other. The future problems these students will face are lack of college acceptance, which leads to lack of good jobs, which eventually leads to a harder life, all because they took the easy way out and cheated. The Cambridge University's plagiarism rules clearly state that the Court of Discipline has a right to expel a student for plagiarizing, but usually the penalty is far less extreme, like a small comment on their record, or being forced to drop a class or two.
An example of a recent copyright infringement case is Pharrell and Robin Thicke's music scandal. Marvin Gaye's children pressed charges against Pharrell and Thicke for copying Gaye's "Got to Give It Up" for their own hit song "Blurred Lines." The jury found them guilty of copyright infringement and forced them to pay $7.3 million of the $16 million they made off the song to Gaye's children. Here's a link to the article.

MacroLab 3/9
In Speed, Time, and Distance, we learned that the more speed and time used, the farther sphero will go. We also learned that the farther sphero goes, the more time it will take, or the higher the speed must go to reach the same times as the runs that were smaller. The commands were to change the time taken and the speed setting, and sphero was able to go faster as time and speed increased.
In 2D Geometry, we learned that we could change sphero's colors with different percentages, and you can change angles by dividing the number of sides by 360 degrees. If you program sphero to have 100% red and 100% green, you can make yellow, and if you have 100% red and 100% blue, you can make a really deep purple, like we learned in art class.

2/17 SixthSense TEDTalks
I learned that the real world and the digital world can intersect to make everyday things easier. One thing I found cool was that you can just stand in front of a wall and draw whatever you want to on it. Another thing I found cool was how you can dial and call a number on just your hand. Another thing I found interesting was you can watch different things and see the current weather by just looking at a newspaper. The last thing I found cool was he made a motion sensor for his hand by just using a few mouse roller things and a box in 2000. The problems that could arise are just the fact that we could get even more rude and anti social than we already are with our iPhone's. We would be so distracted by the technology strapped to our bodies that we would cease to physically communicate with each other. Also, it might have some health damage too. We would be even lazier than we are today. To have everything so convenient and easy to find, we would stop moving around as much, causing many health problems to arise. That all shows that there are many pros and cons to this new technology.
